Privacy
Swas is a breathing app. We try to collect as little as possible to make it work, and we never sell or share what we collect. This page explains the whole picture in plain English. If anything here is unclear, email hello@swas.app.
What we collect
- Email address — from your Apple or Google sign-in, so your streak can follow you across devices and so we can send essential account emails.
- Sign-in provider ID — the opaque sub identifier Apple or Google gives us. We use it to recognize you on return visits.
- Push token — if you opt in to reminders, we store the device token issued by Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging.
- Timezone — so reminders arrive at a sensible hour in your local time.
- Session metadata — which technique you chose, when you started, when you completed, and total duration. We use this for streaks and your own session history. We do not record any biometric or audio data.
- Server logs — incoming request IPs and user agents are kept in operational logs for up to 30 days for security and debugging, then automatically discarded.
What we do not collect
- No third-party analytics SDK. No Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Segment, Facebook Pixel.
- No advertising identifiers. No IDFA, no AAID.
- No microphone, no camera, no location, no contacts, no health data.
- No tracking pixels on this website.
Who processes your data on our behalf
We use a small set of vendors strictly to operate the service. Each is contractually bound to handle data only as instructed by Swas:
- Cloudflare — application hosting and CDN.
- Neon — managed Postgres database (US region).
- Upstash — Redis for rate limiting and refresh tokens.
- Brevo — transactional and (opt-in) marketing email.
- Expo — push-notification delivery to Apple and Google.
- Apple and Google — sign-in providers.
- Sentry — error reporting with personal data scrubbed.
Your rights
You can do any of these at any time:
- Access — request a copy of everything tied to your account.
- Export — receive your session history as JSON.
- Delete — from inside the app, or by emailing us. We soft-delete immediately and purge within 30 days.
- Opt out of marketing — unsubscribe link in every marketing email, or toggle in app settings. Essential account email cannot be opted out of.
Children
Swas is rated 4+ on the App Store, but we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we will delete the account.
Changes
If we ever change what we collect, we will update this page and email you before the change takes effect.
